Doing good is academic

It is a privilege to serve as the chief academic officer of this multifaceted and extraordinary center of creative scholarship, rigorous inquiry, and critical action.

I am constantly impressed by the generosity of our trustees and donors, the dedication of our staff, and, most especially, the commitment of our students and faculty to be part of The New School, not just at The New School. The name “The New School” represents an extraordinary legacy, but also a challenge—to be always new and therefore constantly renewed. We speak a great deal here about goals for the future, but as you’ll see, the student and faculty achievements of the past academic year show that we are on a firm footing today. Thanks to everyone who is part of this remarkable enterprise.
