Course Description:
Climate change will continue to be a critical environmental challenge. In as much as it is a global phenomenon, it requires actions at an international scale. However, the impacts of climate charge are experienced at the local level, which re-quires national and local actions as well. The course explores these global environmental challenges and different governmental-scale responses to climate change. The focus is on addressing issues of justice and equity in the context of climate change strategies. We will focus on development of analytic and conceptual frameworks for addressing climate change that includes consideration of the implications of climate change on energy systems, social and economic justice and environmental sustainability.
