Summer Intensive Studies 2014 (Recap)

For three weeks in July our newly renovated classrooms welcomed students for an intensive three weeks of coursework and creativity for both college and pre-college students. Classes ranged from Paris Trend Spotting to Explorations in Drawing, Photography Storytelling, Fashion Culture, Fashion Design Process 2D, Design Management, and a graduate seminar on “The Period Room as Curatorial Practice,” which took as its focus the newly re-opened decorative arts galleries at the Louvre, as well as making visits to the Musee Carnavelet, the Hotel Soubise, Hotel Beauharnais, and the Hotel Rohan, among other important sites. From field trips exploration to testing out new tools and skills, our students created some amazing work in a very short time. Below is just a taste.

Animation created in Jeanne Verdoux’s Explorations in Drawing class.

For most students, this exercise was their first experience with figure drawings. Brush and ink.
