History of Design & Curatorial Studies: Publication Launch

Students in the MA History of Design & Curatorial Studies program spend two years learning the history of decorative arts and design engaging with various methods to research culture, including first-hand experience of objects in museum collections and of design practice through collaborations with their fellow student designers. This end of year publication was proposed as an independent project: students were given free rein to display what they deemed most relevant about themselves, their research, or their curatorial endeavors. The variety of topics, voices and formats presented reflect the diversity of their backgrounds, their interests and their hopes for the future. Congratulations MA HDCS class of 2017! Basma Alshathry, Serra Cenkçiler, Sarah Gasper, Beatrise Gutmane, Marlena Chanel Host, Kelly Konrad, Francesco Pastore and Katia Porro. On Thursday, May 18th we celebrated the launch of their publication in the Parsons Paris Gallery.

The MA History of Design & Curatorial Studies program is led by Emmanuel Guy. For more on the program, check out their blog.
