The stage adaptation of Orwell’s 1949 novel of the same name comes at a very appropriate time. Much like the recent Hulu adaptation of Margaret Atwell’s The Handmaid’s Tale, relevant fears stirred by the current political climate bring these stories back into the spotlight.

This adaptation of 1984 is set in dystopian New York, instead of the novel’s remnants of London, hitting much closer to home for local theatre goers.
