Coronavirus / Covid-19 Update: Spring Break and the Weeks Beyond

As we continue to monitor the latest developments related to the novel coronavirus, we are writing to share important updates about how classes will proceed in the coming weeks.

We remain actively focused on the unfolding situation. Our decision-making and planning is guided by our sense of responsibility, first and foremost, to protect the health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. It is also our high priority to ensure that teaching, learning, and research are progressing and the academic requirements of classes are being met.

Staff Work Arrangements

Senior administrative leaders and deans are continuing to work with their staff teams to accommodate remote work options and schedule adjustments. We also want to acknowledge our employees who provide essential services and work in roles that require them to be on-campus. We are committed to helping staff find ways to balance their work and personal lives while maintaining a high level of service to our colleagues across campus.

We deeply appreciate the understanding and flexibility of everyone in our community during this difficult and rapidly changing time. We are especially grateful to the faculty and staff who are working so hard to plan, respond, prepare, and implement measures designed to protect the health and safety of the New School community and stay true to our guiding academic mission. We are proud of our resilient and caring community, and our support for each other will carry us through any challenges that lie ahead.
