Post Graduation Resources

In this extraordinary moment, we acknowledge that, like so many university graduates throughout the country, you are missing out on in-person capstone experiences, performances, and milestone celebrations. We want you to know that we are doing all we can to mitigate these losses and allow you to complete your work as you had envisioned it before the coronavirus forced campuses to close in-person instruction. We also wish to provide you with continued access to university support services.

We are committed to offering:

  • extended licenses to Adobe Creative Cloud at reduced cost;
  • licenses to specialized software used by performing arts, media and making programs;
  • access to library services;
  • access to career services that are accessible through my.newschool.edu;
  • ways to support in-person presentations of thesis work;
  • opportunities for graduating students in the performing arts to hold performances and recitals on select weekends.

In addition, we are identifying ways in which graduates will be able to access equipment and workplaces for a limited time once buildings reopen in order to complete work, in compliance with all public health and safety protocols.  And we are exploring ways to allow graduates to audit courses, special classes, and other programming at no cost.

Counseling services will also be available until August 16, 2020 and staff in the office of Global Engagement & International Support Services will continue to offer advising and resources to students interested in pursuing post-graduate international education opportunities, grants, and fellowships.

Be sure to visit the New School alumni website for resources and benefits available to New School alumni.

We want you to know that The New School will remain committed to our graduating students’ pursuit of learning, research scholarship, and practice. Be assured that we are making every effort to extend access to university resources for recent graduates so that they can complete their intended course and program outcomes.

As we have more details, we will communicate them to you. In the meantime, we hope to see you at commencement on Friday.
