Messages to the Community

Spring 2022 On-campus Public Programs and Events Guidance

A message from the Provost’s Office

As announced in the Provost’s Office Community Message on February 23, we are excited to be able to welcome guests back onto campus within certain parameters. We are now writing to provide additional guidance regarding the expansion of in-person access for external guests and visitors on campus, including for in-person events.

These new protocols will take effect beginning March 28 in order to ensure a safe and healthy experience for everyone for the remainder of the spring term.

Key stakeholders across the university have worked in collaboration to create the Spring 2022 On-campus Public Programs and Events Guidance. This document, which can be accessed from the Staff Guidance and Resources section of the new Events on Campus page of the COVID-19 Community Guide, addresses questions related to planning events on campus this semester. Topics addressed include event planning logistics, reserving space on campus, best practices for event registration and guest management, and further information on checking guests in at the Welcome Center. Please carefully review this document before organizing any events on campus.

We appreciate the feedback many of you have shared and will continue to provide updates throughout the semester to ensure the success of our events and public programs. As we continue to make changes or updates to guidance moving forward into summer and fall, additional information and resources will be provided on the new Events on Campus page of the COVID-19 Community Guide

We ask that all colleges and departments share a follow-up message with your local community of faculty and staff to ensure that everyone who needs this information is receiving this message.
