Submission of Initiatives to the University Budget Committee+
A Message from the University Budget Committee +
We are writing to provide additional information on the invitation to submit initiatives to improve the financial sustainability of The New School and to invite you to information sessions about the submission process.
To submit your initiative, please complete the initiative submission form to describe your proposed initiative and outline projected revenues and expenses for the next five years by completing this budget template. If you need assistance building a business case for your submission, please contact the UBC+ at universitybudcomm@newschool.edu. As outlined in this summary of the process, we will select a set of viable initiatives that align with university priorities and support our financial situation using this rubric. Communications regarding the outcomes of this process will be circulated in mid-May.
To be considered for inclusion in the university’s Fiscal 2024 budget, initiatives must be submitted by April 3, 2023. However, the committee will continuously review submissions for consideration in budget revisions and in future fiscal year budgets during the course of Strategic Planning.
We hope you will join us for an in-person and livestreamed information session on the process for submitting initiatives on Wednesday, March 8th from 10:00 am-11:00 am in Tishman Auditorium, Room U100 of the University Center at 63 Fifth Avenue. Click here to join the Vimeo livestream.
The livestream recording will be posted on the university’s dedicated site and the University Budget Committee page of the Financial Transparency Council’s (FTC) website. In addition to this session, we will also hold regular 45-minute open information sessions for members of the community to discuss this process starting the week of March 13th. The schedule for information sessions and additional details on the submission process are posted on the University Budget Committee page of the Financial Transparency Council’s website.
We are working in collaboration with the FTC to develop additional opportunities for the community to gain a deeper understanding of the university’s finances and budget. Please stay tuned for updates on new initiatives.
We look forward to reviewing your submissions!
