Messages to the Community

Join us for Conversations in the Strategic Planning Study

A Message from the Strategic Planning Steering Committee

The Strategic Planning Steering Committee wants to hear from our students, faculty and staff, and will be hosting a series of Compassionate Critiques to gather input in the weeks ahead. The concept of Compassionate Critique was born out of the desire to provide a space for reflection and dialogue as we collect information from as many people in our community as possible for the current phase of Strategic Planning. Our objective is to take advantage of critique as the pedagogical approach used by many disciplines at The New School, and adapt it as a process that will be integral in seeking community input. These sessions are meant to capture all of the feedback our community has in an atmosphere that is compassionate and generative.

In these conversations, we will review the strategic pillars introduced in 2021, and invite inquiry and critique to help us define how we will live into the values they embody. All sessions are in person at the Strategic Planning Study unless otherwise noted. We hope you will join us in person or virtually in the coming weeks:
