Julien J. Studley Graduate Programs in International Affairs

Meet the Faculty – Everita Silina

Before the start of this semester, get to know Everita Silina, Assistant Professor of International Affairs and director of the MA in International Affairs! Alongside our Director Peter Hoffman, Silina also chairs the Conflict & Security concentration. She runs the International Field Program in the Balkans as well as the university-wide Graduate Minor in Migration Studies, with T. Alexander Aleinikoff.

Her research has focused on theories of justice and social contract, especially, models of democratic legitimacy, and the new governance mechanisms in the European Union. At the core of this research is a concern with the apparent incommensurability between the notions of justice crafted in a context of nation states and the increasing integration of financial and economic spheres at regional and global levels.

Watch below to hear more from her and enjoy her black humor!
