Latest from the Bargaining Session with SHENS-UAW Local 7902

On November 13, the university bargaining committee met again with representatives of SHENS-UAW Local 7902 (SHENS), the union representing our Student Health Employees, for continuing negotiations towards a successor collective bargaining agreement.

The university offered a revised enhanced proposal addressing commitments in its initial proposal on professional development. The university also put forward a counter-offer to an initial proposal by the union centered on the clinical supervision duties that some bargaining unit members undertake. During the session, the union offered its counter to the university’s proposal on wages.

Both parties engaged in candid and productive discussions on a variety of subjects, reviewing the status of each issue and sharing additional perspectives and interests.

Our next scheduled bargaining sessions with SHENS are November 20 and November 27, and we are looking forward to continuing discussions.
