SENS-UAW Local 7902 Bargaining Update

As you have all now likely heard, the university and SHENS-UAW Local 7902 have reached a successor collective bargaining agreement. We are excited by this and would like to build on that success in the SENS-UAW Local 7902 negotiations. The university is committed to a refreshed approach to our bargaining with SENS in an effort to reach the same successful outcome.

After a brief break following the end of semester, we are scheduled to meet again on January 10 when we resume contract negotiations with SENS. At that session, we will be joined by Peter Jones, who was lead outside labor counsel on our SHENS bargaining team. Peter will work alongside our current bargaining team, including myself, Maggie Koozer, Ryan Gustafson, Zachary Williamson, and Shondrika Merritt.

We are committed to working with the SENS bargaining team to find solutions that address the issues that matter most to our Academic Student Workers. It is our hope and desire that we can bring the same spirit of collaboration and partnership to the SENS negotiations that were present during bargaining with SHENS.

We are deeply grateful for the work done by the university’s bargaining team to date and look forward to reaching a new labor agreement with our Academic Student Workers that recognizes and rewards the hard work and dedication you offer our campus community.
