Steinmetz, Charles Tilly Collegiate Professor of Sociology at the University of Michigan discussed his book, The Colonial Origins of Modern Social Thought: French Sociology and the Overseas Empire. Frederick Cooper is Professor Emeritus of History at New York University. This event was co-hosted by the sociology department at NSSR and Critical Perspectives on Anti-Colonialism.
