School of Media Studies MA Students Andrea L. Fernandez, Jeff Sweeton, and Sarah Wilson Present on Innovative Panels at HASTAC Conference 2023 focused on Critical Making and Social Justice.
Drawn from the graduate course “Storytelling Across Media” taught by SMS Professor Margaret Rhee, SMS MA students Andrea Fernandez, Jeff Sweeton, and Sarah Wilson will present their innovative class projects on two panels focused on digital storytelling, social justice, and pedagogy at the HASTAC Conference at Pratt Institute in June. The two panels are “Storytelling Across Media, Critical Making, and Social Justice,” and a multi institutional session entitled “Telling Crucial Stories: Social Justice, Data, and Interactive Art in Student Projects.”
The 2023 HASTAC Conference engages with creative and design-based approaches to technology and education, particularly around issues of social justice and allied movements.
The conference will be hosted at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NYC from June 8–10, 2023.
