New School Jazz alum Jean Rohe will participate in WNYC’s Battle of the Boroughs, a city-wide competition, beginning 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5, at the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, 44 Charlton Street. Twelve Brooklyn acts of all genres and disciplines will face-off for the borough title. With Rohe on voice and percussion, her band comprises Ilusha Tsinadze, guitar; Liam Robinson, accordion; Jazz alumni Chris Tordini, bass and Aaron Shaffer-Haiss, percussion.
This event is hosted by WNYC’s Terence McKnight, and the bands will be judged by in-house audience vote that will send the winner to the city-wide round in June.
Admission is $15 and tickets are available by visiting www.thegreenespace.org.
