First Rate Exchange Drama Alumnae Tapped for London’S US/UK Program
From over 800 applicants, Drama Alums Tatiana Suarez-Pico ’05, Laura Gourdine ’08, and Tai Verley ’08 were among 50 theater artists selected to travel to London for the T.S. Eliot US/UK Exchange 2010, a program of the Old Vic Theatre.
Supported by the T.S. Eliot Estate and hosted in partnership with The Public Theater, the US/UK Exchange offers artists aged 18 to 30 the opportunity to develop their skills by engaging with the theater communities on the other side of the Atlantic.
This is an incredible opportunity for any artist,, says Suarez-Pico. There are quite a few very talented actors, directors, producers, and writers in New York, but often what really distinguishes a ‘successful’ artist is access. Access to mentors, collaborators, places that support new work, producers, and writers who are willing to take a leap of faith and the Old Vic and The Public are very committed to developing these new voices.,
