Get Off Your Butt and March Join The ew School Aids Walk New York TeamN

For a third year, The New School will form a team to support AIDS Walk New York, helping people in our community struggling with HIV and AIDS. Here are some statistics that may give you pause:

  • 40,000 to 60,000 people are newly infected with HIV in the United States every year.
  • 50 percent of those newly infected are under the age of 24.
  • 25 percent of those newly infected do not know it.
  • New York accounts for approximately 18 percent of all HIV cases in the United States.

Join The New School team 1463 on Sunday, May 16, at 9:00 a.m. in Central Park. To register to walk or to donate online, go to the AIDS Walk website. Volunteers should contact any of the following New School Committee members: Laura Cosgrove, Office of Finance and Business; Katie Scheidt, Office of Information Technology; Sheila Slaughter, Office of Human Resources; Adam Reale, Design and Construction; and Stephen Serwin, Raymond Fogelman Library.

Help The New School demonstrate its commitment to ending AIDS, promoting awareness, and showing support for family members, friends, and neighbors who are facing HIV and AIDS every day.
