The Script’s The Thing The New School’s First Student Screenplay Reading Series
It’s no secret that without a good script, you cannot have a good movie. Students finishing The New School Screenwriting Certificate program have been learning this firsthand. Better yet, they already have actors and audiences for their work.
To celebrate those finishing the program, The New School will present the first Student Screenplay Reading Series on Thursday, May 6, from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., in Wollman Hall, 65 West 11th Street, 5th floor. As part of the Annual Dorothy H. Hirshon Film Festival, selected portions of students’ feature film scripts will be read aloud by trained actors before an audience of peers and invited film industry professionals.
The Hirshon Film Festival will conclude the next night at 7:00 p.m. with the 31st Annual New School Invitational Film Show, a gala screening of outstanding films made by New School students in the past year. It will be held in Tishman Auditorium, 66 West 12th Street.
