Excelling Under Jackob Hoffman’s Direction, Bachelor’s Student Gets Rave Reviews for Engaging Shaw
He is student by day (and night) and an up and coming director by night. A senior in The New School for General Studies’ Bachelor’s Program, earning his BFA degree in Musical Theatre, Jackob Hoffman has been acting and directing for many years.
A 1990 graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, he has been quite prolific over the years as an actor, playwright, and director. With the opening of Engaging Shaw, at the Abingdon Theater, Hoffman’s comprehensive theatre experience has certainly paid off. The New York Times writes, If there’s a minute of the play that’s less than clever, you’ll be hard pressed to find it., For the full review see: http://theater.nytimes.com/2010/04/27/theater/reviews/27engaging.html?ref=arts.
Originally from Long Island, Hoffman moved to New York at 18 and began pursuing his dreams. At 40, they are being realized and The New School is definitely part of the backdrop.
