Cool Cats About Town: New School Jazz Swings into Summer
New School Jazz alumni and faculty can be heard this summer at some of the hottest jazz spots in town.
Alumni performance highlights include Aaron Goldberg‘s trio at the Jazz Standard in celebration of his new release Home (July 8-11); Marcus Strickland Quartet, featuring E.J. Strickland, at the Jazz Standard (July 20); and Robert Glasper‘s Experiment and Jose James BlackMagic at Lincoln Center of Out Of Doors (August 4).
Faculty performances include Andy Milne and Dapp Theory at Fat Cat (July 16), Bobby Sanabria with Quarteto Ache at FB Lounge (July 7) and with his Big Band at Lincoln Center Out of Doors (August 14), and the Joanne Brackeen Quartet at the Jazz Standard (July 29-August 1).
