The New You: The New School’s Peer Health Advocacy Program
The New You is the university’s peer health advocacy program, which trains a team of students, known as peer health advocates, to become empowered leaders specializing in health and well-being.
Peer health advocates co-facilitate workshops with staff members from Health Education, the Office of Student Development and Activities, and Student Health Services. Together they tackle emerging and salient issues at the university such as sexual and gender identity, alcohol and drug use, harm reduction, and self-care through meditation and acupressure.
The following students have completed this year’s training program and are now recognized as Peer Health Advocates for the 2010’2011 academic year:
