Heather Monroe Memorial Lecture Louis Rosen on Jazz: From the Club to the Concert Hall
On Saturday, December 11, Louis Rosen will deliver the first Heather Monroe Memorial Lecture.
Rosen is a songwriter, recording artist, author, teacher, and Guggenheim Fellow in Music Composition. Among his devoted students was Heather Monroe, former chair of the advisory board of the Institute for Retired Professionals (IRP). Rosen delivers this lecture/performance on jazz history as the inaugural program in memory of this remarkable leader and student of the IRP.
The lecture/performance will take place on Saturday, December 11, at 12:00 p.m. in Tishman Auditorium, 66 West 12th Street. Admission is free, but an RSVP is required; email irp@newschool.edu or call 212.229.5682.
