Mannes Students organize Musicians for Japan Benefit Concert

In support of those injured and displaced by Japan’s recent earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster, Shoko Iwashita and Maiko Hosoda, two Mannes College students, have organized a benefit concert, Musicians for Japan.

Featuring student and professional performers, the evening will highlight pieces by Western and Japanese composers, including Johannes Brahms, J. S. Bach, Maurice Ravel, Keiko Abe, Rentaro Taki, Hideo Kobayashi, and others.

Musicians for Japan will take place on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:30 PM, at the Mannes College Concert Hall, 150 West 85th Street. Admission is free, and guests will be given an opportunity to donate to the Japan Society’s Earthquake Relief Fund.
