New School Student Receives Soros Fellowship

Jason Kim, now a first year MFA candidate in playwriting at The New School for Drama, is one of 30 2011 recipients of the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans. This prestigious fellowship is awarded annually to accomplished and promising immigrants and children of immigrants in American graduate education. Recipients represent the top three percent from more than one thousand applicants.

Born and raised in South Korea, Kim, a 2008 Columbia graduate, is the author of numerous stage plays, screenplays, and teleplays series. Kim will use his fellowship to support his continued studies in playwriting at The New School for Drama.
