The Black Dot: An Ashoka U Changemaker Campus Initiative Event
On Wednesday, April 27, from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m., the Ashoka U Changemaker Campus Initiative at The New School will present The Black Dot,, a networking event organized by students, for students, that highlights young social innovators from The New School community.
Speakers include:
- Marina Kim, executive director, Ashoka U
- Michele Leaman, change manager, Ashoka U
- Helene Wasserman, New School alumna, development intern, Clinton Foundation
- Alex Smith, New School alumnus, educator, Solar One, New York City’s first solar-powered Green Energy, Arts, and Education Center
This event will take place in the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Gallery, Sheila C. Johnson Design Center, 2 West 13th Street. Admission is free, but reservations are required. For more information about Ashoka U at The New School email tnsashoka@newschool.edu.
In 2009, The New School was selected to participate in the Ashoka U, which aims to expand social entrepreneurship education across campuses and explore ways in which universities can become hubs for social innovation that create solutions to diverse social and environmental challenges.
