2011 Expressive Therapies Summit Comes to The New School
From November 10-13, the second annual Expressive Therapies Summit will bring together more than 150 pioneers, clinicians, and educators for an inspiring four-day program of half-day workshops and full-day master classes at various venues throughout Manhattan.
This exciting event being co-sponsored by the Creative Arts Therapy program at The New School for Public Engagement, offers creative arts therapists, educators, arts professionals, and interested health workers the opportunity to come together to learn, collaborate, and network. A variety of hands-on approaches and multidisciplinary collaborations are featured.
A number of Thursday and Friday sessions will be held at The New School, including a special symposium on Friday, November 11, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. where a new film produced for the Lucy Daniels Foundation will premiere about artists’ experiences with psychoanalysis. The film will be introduced by Dr. Lucy Daniels, and will be followed by a panel discussion featuring some of the artists from the film.
