Social Innovation Speaker Series: Engaging Communities for Change
Four innovative leaders, all Ashoka Fellows, will discuss how they engage communities locally and globally in their work on Monday, November 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Theresa Lang Community and Student Center, 55 West 13th Street, 2nd floor.
Their focus is diverse including local currency, economic development, social justice, and international development, but they share a common commitment to designing solutions with and empowering communities.
Moderator by David Scobey, executive dean of The New School for Public Engagement, the speakers include:
- Ana Marââ a Archila – co-executive director, Make the Road New York
- Edgar Cahn – founder of Time Dollars
- Miguel Robles-Duran – organizer, Nomadic University; director, Design and Urban Ecologies, Parsons The New School of Design
- Greg Van Kirk – founder of The New Development Solutions Group
