Occupy the Financial System-Your Banking Choices

The University Student Senate (USS), Milano School of International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy Dean’s Office and the Federation for Community Development Credit Unions (Federation) are hosting a teach-in to discuss responsible financial alternatives on Friday, November 4 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at 6 East 16th Street, room 1103.

Participants include:

  • Cliff Rosenthal, CEO/President of The Federation for Community Development Credit Unions
  • Linda Levy, CEO- Lower East Side People’s Federal Credit Union work
  • Kevin McQueen, assistant director, Community Development Finance Lab
  • Annie McShiras, development director, Responsible Endowments Coalition

This program, developed by Milano alumna Elizabeth Friedrich ’11, who just published an article on Occupy Wall Street and Promoting Credit Unions, is being held in response to students’ interest in understanding the origins of the financial crisis and how they may make better-informed financial decisions.
