Electronic Waste-Recycling at The New School
The New School’s Office for Sustainability and Student Housing and Residence Life are co-hosting a biannual electronic waste-recycling event for the entire university community. This is a great opportunity to responsibly dispose of unwanted electronics that contain hazardous materials such as toxic chemicals and heavy metals that contaminate our waste stream and the environment.
From Monday, December 12 to Wednesday, December 21, students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to bring electronics to collection points in the lobbies of the following buildings:
- Arnhold Hall, 55 West 13th Street
- Mannes College, 150 West 85th Street
- Schwartz Fashion Center, 560 Seventh Avenue
There will also be a collection point in the common area of each residence hall.
Items accepted for recycling include the following:
Computers, monitors, keyboards, computer mice, laptops, mainframes, modems, hard drives, floppy drives, telephones (all types), connecting wires and cables, printers, and copy machines (small).
Please delete any sensitive data before disposing of items.
