United Citizens: How We Revive Our Democracy

On Friday, March 2, The New School community is invited to United Citizens, an afternoon panel discussion on the grassroots revival of our democracy.

The panel discussion asks how we might change Washington’s political environment, how to promote candidates’ independence from special interest funding and how to reverse the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.

Speakers include Ann-Marie Slaughter, professor of Politics and International affairs at Princeton, filmmakers Brian Malone and Cindy Malone, Former Congressman Mickey Edwards and others.

The panel takes place at NYU’s Global Center, 58 Washington Square South on Friday, March 2 from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free but registration is required at www.nyu.edu/brademas/programs.events.

The panel will be followed by the New York premiere of the political documentary Patriocracy at the Quad Cinema, 34 W 13th Street at 6:25 p.m. (Present conference registration for a $3 discount on tickets.)
