Help A New Schooler’s Project Get Kickstarted
The New School has just launched a curated page on Kickstarter that features current projects by students, faculty, alumni, and staff. The page is a platform for The New School community, across all eight divisions, to share their current projects. As of April 2012, Kickstarter had more than $175 million dollars pledged and more than 20,000 successfully funded projects. Kickstarter provides a platform to raise money to support creative project ranging from feature films, video games, music projects, community activities, and small business ventures. Now The New School has Kickstarter page to share all of the amazing work created by our community.
Currently the page contains nine successfully funded projects such as Brandon Finn, a Lang student’s senior thesis, Ripple Effect and the installation, Chapel for The Betrayed, by Parsons professor Tony Whitfield. There are current projects still in need of funding such as Empires: The Film, a documentary and new media project, which explores the impact of networks on histories and philosophies of political thought. Media Studies MA student, Sasha Sakhar is serving as associate producer and Media Studies alumna Keren Weinberg is serving as editor.
Take a look at The New School Kickstarter page to see all the projects created by current students.
