Free Bus Service for New Schoolers in Hoboken
As public transit in the New York City region continues to recover from Hurricane Sandy, The New School is providing free, chartered bus service to students, faculty and staff in affected areas. The buses, which are yellow school buses marked Sunshine Bus Company, are currently serving Hoboken, New Jersey. (Buses to Brooklyn have been discontinued, as L Train service has resumed.) Read on for a full bus schedule. Passengers must present a valid New School ID to board the bus.
Please note that the bus schedule will change slightly due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Buses will run on a normal schedule (see below) on Tuesday, November 20. On Wednesday, November 21, there will be only one morning bus (9 a.m. from Hoboken) and one evening bus (6:30 from The New School). There will be no bus service on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23.

Bus 1: Depart 6:00 a.m.—Pickup at Hoboken/Path Station, drop-off at New School (14th Street and Fifth Avenue)*
Bus 2: Depart 9:00 a.m.—Pickup at Hoboken/Path Station, drop-off at New School (14th Street and Fifth Avenue)*
Bus 1: Depart 6:30 p.m.—Pickup at New School (14th Street and Fifth Avenue),* drop-off at Hoboken/Path Station
Bus 2: Depart 10:30 p.m.—Pickup at New School (14th Street and Fifth Avenue),* drop-off at Hoboken/Path Station
*Please note: This pickup or drop-off point is approximate and may be affected by parking or traffic conditions. If buses aren’t on the corner, they are likely waiting for passengers on Fifth Avenue in between 14th and 12th Streets.
