“The Jewish Relationship with Israel at a Crossroads”: Now Broadcast Online from CSPAN

This fall, The New School for Public Engagement’s Vera List Center for Art and Politics hosted author Norman Finkelstein and activist Anna Baltzer in a discussion on entitled “The American Jewish Relationship with Israel at a Crossroads.”  Speaking to a packed audience in Tishman Auditorium, Finkelstein and Baltzer exchanged sharply argued and often sharply differing views about hot-button topics like divestiture from Israel, settlements in disputed territories, and American policy in the region.

In the wake of the recent military action in Gaza, these issues are more pertinent than ever. For those looking to brush up on the issues the October 6th event is now available on C-Span’s website.

2012-2013 marks the 20th anniversary of the Vera List Center for Art and Politics, which provides a forum for discussion on the role of the arts in society and their relationship to the sociopolitical climate in which they are created. The Center organizes public programs, seminars, workshops, performances, exhibitions, classes and publications that respond to some of the pressing social and political issues of our time.
