The New School News

Earth Week at The New School

You’re not the only one.

Dust off your bike and strap on your hemp sandals; spring has sprung—and with that comes Earth Day! There’s been a lot of progress in the 43 years since the inaugural celebration sparked the modern day environmental movement. Initiatives for cleaner air, limiting of practices that cause environmental degradation, and a greater public awareness has ensured that.  At The New School, we celebrate the anniversary of Earth Day as a marathon, not a sprint. Starting April 20, the university taps into the energy of the movement with 10 days of festivities. These are no ordinary tree planting ceremonies. Over the course of the extended week, New Schoolers pack in a recycled fashion show, panels on fossil fuels, resources for alternative methods of transportation, and more during events both on and off campus.

Check out the list below for a schedule of events. For details, see the 2013 Earth Week website.
