Students Go Green

The New School celebrated Earth Day this year with ten jam-packed days of events geared towards promoting eco-friendly lifestyles.  Over the course of the week, student groups and New York-based organizations hosted a recycled fashion runway show, a bike repair workshop, film screenings and more. Catching up with organizers from two of the events, the New_S documented the ins and outs of last Tuesday’s “swap”, where community members exchanged unwanted clothing, and a slow food meal, which brought people together to eat a healthfully in a communal setting.

Don’t forget! There’s still two more days of Earth-y fun. Check out tonight’s Slow Food Training event (3:00 p.m. in the Lang Café), a student film screening (6:00 p.m. at 6 East 16th Street, room 1107), and next Tuesday’s fossil fuel panel discussion (6:00 p.m. at Wollman Hall).
