Vets’ Best Bet: US News Rankings Honors MATESOL

US News and World Report has already cited The New School for our small class sizes and international student body. Now, we have another trophy to add to our case: a new ranking gives a well-deserved nod to our Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages—MATESOL for short.  The publications placed The New School’s MATESOL sixth on its list of Best Online Education Graduate Programs for Veterans.

The New School has a long history of leading education for veterans, having launched The New School for Public Engagement’s bachelor’s program in the 40’s for soldiers returning home from World War II. The MATESOL program, which is offered both online and on-campus, is popular among returning vets for its flexibility and cross-cultural focus. Visit www.newschool.edu/matesol for more information–and watch the video below for the story of Jason, a veteran who studies Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at the undergraduates level.
