Parsons@ Fashion Week: MFA Grad Looks Take the Runway

On Saturday, September 6, Parsons helped kick off New York Fashion Week with Round3, the runway presentation of the third class of the MFA in Fashion Design and Society. Editors, bloggers, and design leaders including Donna Karan and Kay Unger filled Chelsea’s Milk Studios for the evening show, which featured looks ranging from bauble-decked gowns to re-mixed men’s street and outerwear.

The first program of its kind in the United States, the MFA in Fashion Design and Society is renowned for an interdisciplinary approach training designers who work on the cutting edge of fashion. See the slideshow above for looks from the runway presentation – or watch the show in full below.

The MFA grads weren’t the only Parsons alums to participate in Fashion Week, which is a de facto reunion for the School of Fashion. Alexander Wang, Donna Karan, Joseph Altuzarra, Jason Wu, Anna Sui, and Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are just a few of the Parsons-trained designers who are showing this week.
