Robert Glasper Takes Home Second Grammy Award
Robert Glasper is going to have to make more room on his mantle.
The former New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music student scored his second Grammy Award on Monday, taking home the trophy for Best Traditional R&B Performance for his song, “Jesus Children” featuring Lalah Hathaway and Malcolm-Jamal Warner. The song was taken from his 2014 album, Black Radio 2.
This marks the Blue Note Records artist’s second Grammy; in 2013, he won for Best R&B album for his LP, Black Radio. Like Black Radio, Black Radio 2 is a fusion of R&B, neo-soul, and hip-hop.
Prior to the 57th GRAMMY Awards, Glasper performed at a pre-performance ceremony at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
