Luxury Education Foundation Celebrates 10th Anniversary
A who’s who of the fashion and design industry packed The New School on March 23 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Luxury Education Foundation and its educational partnership with Parsons School of Design and Columbia Business School.
Held at The New School’s University Center, the event showcased 10 iconic design and marketing projects from LEF’s interdisciplinary Master Class, a semester-long class in which students from Parsons and Columbia collaboratively develop product and marketing concepts for Ferragamo, Van Cleef & Arpels, Cadillac, Cartier and Lalique.
The program benefits both students and businesses: Students learn from senior executives at the world’s leading luxury goods companies; businesses benefit from an influx of creative energy that leads to fresh new concepts.
At the event, LEF also launched its tenth program, the Luxury Craftsmanship Workshop. For the course, Parsons selected 16 highly accomplished students to work in four teams of four with expert craftsmen from participating luxury companies.
The 10th anniversary event was co-chaired by LEF board member Henri Barguirdjian, President & CEO, Graff USA; and Thomas Serrano, President, Havas Luxe. The celebration is expected to draw 350 guests, from LEF alumni and key players from the luxury industry.
