"I think my favorite piece in my room is probably my Lang bag that I painted myself," Holley says. "It looked a little plain originally, which was was good because then I could make it not plain. She adds, "I'm very excited to meet my roommate. We've been emailing, and she's from China and I've been studying mandarin."

On Move-In Day, Students Savor Their New Digs
Last week, students, with their parents in tow, pushed huge rolling carts and pulled suitcases stuffed with possessions into university buildings throughout The New School’s Greenwich Village campus.
It was move-in week, that hectic time filled with stress, anticipation and dozens of decorating decisions.
To mark the occasion, we checked in with the students for their thoughts on everything from their favorite thing about their new rooms, to why they chose the dorm they chose, to what they’re hope for in their new roommates.
