The New School Celebrates Campus Architecture with 2016 Open House New York Events
The best examples of design and planning from throughout the five boroughs will be celebrated when Open House New York returns on October 15 and 16.
It’s only natural that The New School, a progressive Greenwich Village university boasting historic and state-of-the-art facilities, would be featured among New York’s architectural gems.
The New School hosts a series of activities as part of OHNY, an event that celebrates “the best examples of design and planning throughout the five boroughs, from historic to contemporary, and helps foster a more informed conversation about how architecture and urban design sustain New York as a vibrant place to live, work, and learn.”
The activities include:
- Tours of The New School’s site-specific works with Art Collection Curator Silvia Rocciolo. Saturday, October 15, 11 am.
- Tours of the University Center sustainability features with Assistant Director of Sustainability Initiatives Erik Eibert. Sunday, October 16, 10 am, 12:15 pm, and 2:30 pm.
- Tours of Parsons’ new Making Center with architect Lyn Rice. Sunday, October 16, 11 am and 1 pm
- The New School’s Sheila C. Johnson Design Center, which currently features the exhibition Push Play and the upcoming Parsons Alumni Exhibition, will be open to visitors. Saturday and Sunday, October 15 and 16, 12 pm-6 pm.
