First Year + AMT Exhibition at Eglise Saint Merry
This semester in the event of the 100th Anniversary of The New School, students from First year and AMT had the opportunity to present video works in the Crypt of the Eglise Saint Merry for a Visual Arts Exhibition.
Eglise Saint Merry is a Gothic Church which is located in the 4th Arrondissement of Paris. The Church first opened in 1690 and hosts glass windows from the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Apart from being one of the oldest churches in Paris, and an outstanding example of Gothic architecture, it has become a centre that supports visual and performing arts, and has created a welcoming community for young artists in the heart of Paris. This made the venue a culturally rich environment for thriving artists to present their work at such a charged place. Â
The selected videos were presented during a one-day visual arts exhibition under the theme of The Long View: Interactions.Â
The Exhibition was organised and coordinated by Instructors:, Bridget O’Rourke (Director of FY and AMT, Emmanuel Cohen and Kathleen Ritter (FY Coordinators), and Rachel Marks (FY Instructor)
