Parsons Paris

Career Services: Recap of October

For the month of October, the Department focused on career and skills development. Virginie led special resume workshops dedicated to helping students update their resumes after their internships during PFW as well as for the next Fashion Weeks taking place in the Spring 2020! Seniors and Master 2 students met one on one with Virginie to discuss their career plans!

The main event of the month was a Career Strategy and Design workshop hosted by Naida Culshaw, a professional coach. The 3 hour workshop helped students with their professional vision which included who they wanted to be, what they wanted to achieve throughout their career, and how to tell their story within 99 words! This event was positively received by Parsons Paris students and all of them were able to get an idea of where they wanted to be post graduation.

Students also created their French CV. A French CV is really important to have if you are looking for an internship or a job in France!

The SDM program began their mentoring program. The goals of our mentoring program are:

  • Getting the support from a young graduate and sharing questions/tips/advice
  • Identifying areas where the current students need support
  • Writing 3 to 5 priorities before graduation
  • Meeting at least once per semester

Last but not least, The Career Services and the Student Success Office received a 10-hour training from The New School about Crisis Management. The goal is to support students during their studies and their learning experience during an internship for example.

The team is trained and well-prepared to support our Student Community!
