Career Services: November Recap

The month of November was a busy one for Career Services! We hosted many events and workshops dedicated to improving professional and interview skills for future internships/jobs!

After Fall Break, we hosted a two part InDesign workshop! Hosted by Maxim Moulin, students were able to create various business cards, resumes, and presentations through this interactive workshop! InDesign is a fantastic creative platform that can help build a students portfolio. It is also a great skill to put on your resume! Faculty were also given the opportunity to sharpen their skills through their own workshop. We look forward to seeing what students create in the future through InDesign!

Our next main event was our second annual Resume Night. This was a great event where students could come and get feedback about their resume from our Student Success Team and outside recruiters. Students also had the opportunity to get a headshot for their LinkedIn, personal website, and resume. In France, it is important to add a photo to your resume. In other countries, it may be optional or not needed. Be sure to research how resumes are organized and arranged whenever you are applying for jobs and resume in different countries!

Students also had the chance to learn more about three different companies: Chloe, LVMH Fragrance, and Accor. Representatives from each company came to the school to discuss internship opportunities, talk about their company, and look over students resumes! For more information about this event please read our detailed blog post (insert link)!

Later on in the month, Virginie led a student panel that discussed aspects of student life, careers after school, and internships! Thank you Farah, Griffin, Laura, Kevin, and Mayomi for your help with the creation and execution of this panel!

Our last even was a roundtable session for Fashion Studies Master Students. This roundtable was dedicated to setting up possible mentorships. Current master students met with recent alumni and discussed possible career plans, the challenges and gains that recent alumni faced after graduation as well as tips and tricks for interviews and first jobs.

We also have mentor programs for fashion design and SDM students! If you are interested in the program, please contact Virginie for more information! We look forward to seeing the program grow as the year continues!
