Class Visit: Association Azzedine Alaïa
Fashion Design Junior students visited Association Azzedine Alaia for their Specialized Studio class to view the exhibition “Azzedine Alaia Collectionneur: Alaïa et Balenciaga, Sculpteurs de la Forme” which displays Alaia’s personal collection of Balenciaga garments and a selection of his own creations.
Presented side by side, the exhibition shows the connections between the two designer work in relation to their technical prowess and mastery of cut. During their visit, Fashion Design students carefully analyzed the construction, fit, volume, form and finishing of the garments to serve as an inspiration for their own creations and exploration of technique as a creative design tool.
