And… we’re back!

As part of The New School, Parsons Paris is a community of innovators dedicated to new approaches, new ways of thinking, and new solutions. Today we are called to live these values, to bring our campus and community together in inspiring new ways, and to reimagine our educational experience in the 2020–2021 academic year. As we all continue to confront the ongoing challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, one thing remains constant: the value of a New School education.

The fall 2020 semester will start on August 31 and end on December 18, and courses will be delivered in a hybrid format, combining online and on-campus learning. 

KEY FEATURES

  • Teaching and Learning
    To take into account the specificities of our programs and courses, program directors and faculty are adapting curricula depending on the specific content of each course, to ensure a rigorous and relevant learning experience. Courses will be offered in various delivery formats such as:
    • Online intensive for seven weeks
    • Hybrid, with seven weeks online and eight weeks on-site or five weeks online and ten weeks on-site
    • On-site intensive for eight to ten weeksAdditionally, students will have access to a selection of signature online lecture and recitation courses offered by The New School.
  • Access to Campus
    Campus will be open as of August 31. For more information, please refer to our Return to Campus plan.

Fall 2020 Incoming Students

Parsons Paris is offering a hybrid first semester program for First Year students to facilitate your academic year, wherever you may be and until you arrive at our Parsons Paris campus.

Undergraduate Students

The first semester of the First Year will be a 15-week hybrid program, with 7 weeks online followed by 8 weeks on campus in Paris. The academic year will start with a virtual orientation on August 27 and proceed according to the below details: 

  • Monday, August 31 to Saturday, October 17 (Weeks 1 through 7):  All students will take classes online. All students will have access to our services and will work closely with our advising and entire Student Success team.
  • Monday, October 26 to Friday, December 18 (Weeks 8 through 15): All students will be on campus and continue their academic year and curriculum together.

We will host a special orientation week to introduce students to Paris from October 19 to October 23, including cultural activities and field trips for newly arrived students and those already on campus. Graduate Students

Campus will be open as of August 31.The Fall semester will be a 15-week hybrid program, with online instruction until October 3, followed by classes on campus in Paris as detailed below:

  •  Monday, August 31 to Saturday, October 3 (Weeks 1 through 5):  All students will take classes online. All students will have access to our services and will work closely with our advising and the entire Student Success team.
  • Monday, October 5: Onsite Student Success Orientation
  • Monday, October 5 to Friday, December 18 (Weeks 6 through 15): All students will be on campus in person, and continue their academic year and curriculum together.
  • Week of Monday, October 19 to Saturday, October 24: Orientation week on campus in Paris with field trips and cultural activities. (Optional for MA Fashion Studies students.)

  • Fall 2020 Returning StudentsCampus will be open as of August 31. For more information, please refer to our Return to Campus plan. 

    Dates
    •  From August 31 to October 3, academic programs will be delivered online
    • On-campus instruction will resume on October 5, and will end as planned on December 18
    • The Fall break has been rescheduled to the week of October 19.

FUTURE UPDATES

The spring 2021 semester will start on January 14 for New Student Orientation, and classes will resume on January 18, 2021.
