‘Alaïa et Poiret: Exploring Fashion Heritage’ MA Fashion Studies Book Launch

The Azzedine Alaïa Foundation and Parsons Paris is pleased to invite you to attend the launch of

‘Alaïa et Poiret: Exploring Fashion Heritage’

on Thursday 9th December 2021 at 6pm.

This book was created in collaboration with The New School Parsons Paris course ‘Fashion, Memory and the Politics of Heritage’ taught by Antoine Bucher as part of the MA in Fashion Studies.

This is the first in a series of publications investigating the politics of heritage through the privilege perspective of the historical archives of the Foundation Azzedine Alaïa. The book focuses on the seminal fashion auction Univers de Paul Poiret de de Denise Poiret (2005) on the wardrobe of Denise Poiret. Gathering essays, interviews and academics, curators and family members alongside unique visual and written documentation of the archive at Foundation Azzedine Alaïa, the book works as a research tool disclosing unique documents and sources in the making of Poiret heritage.

Please join us to celebrate this outstanding accomplishment of our MA in Fashion Students!
