“The New Conversation” with Shonda Rhimes
Today I am pleased to share this latest episode of “The New Conversation,” the online discussion series where I invite scholars, artists, leaders, and change-makers to talk about their lives, work, achievements, and some of the most important issues of our times. It was a great pleasure to sit down with Shonda Rhimes, one of the most prolific and admired media superstars. She is a television screenwriter, producer, author, C.E.O. of digital media company Shondaland, and is best-known as the showrunner of Grey’s Anatomy, the political thriller series Scandal, and as the main producer of Netflix’s Bridgerton. During our wide-ranging discussion, we talked about her influence on the television industry, the importance of diverse casts and stories, and what inspires her work. I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did. You can watch it here.
