Attend a Student Support & Advocacy Training
A message from: Amani Gheith, Director of Student Support and Advocacy
Dear New School Community,
The Student Support and Advocacy (SSA) office provides support to students experiencing non-academic challenges, connecting them to on and off campus resources and helping them navigate offices and systems inside and outside The New School. This can include concerns related to mental and physical health, interpersonal issues, behavior, issues impacting academic progress, food, financial and housing concerns, and more.
SSA is launching a series of trainings and workshops starting this Fall 2024, open to The New School community, including students, staff and faculty, who would like to learn more about Student Support and Advocacy, what resources and support are available, how to identify when a student is struggling and needs support, and how to connect with our team.
The current trainings for the semester are as follows:
- Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2:00-3:30 p.m. (Zoom)
- Thursday, Oct. 17 (Tentatively 1:30-3:00 p.m., In Person)
- Tuesday, Nov. 12, 12:00-1:30 p.m. (Zoom)
